The creation of the Revit Super Template takes much of the actual need for a 'cad manual' out of the picture as it automates a great deal of what used to be documented. However, it is still not a bad idea to document what those standards are in a BIM manual. This can occur simultaneously with the template creation or afterwards. One of the benefits of it occurring simultaneously is it serves as a communication tool between BIM Coalition and those reviewing the templates and/or process. This also includes the documentation of best practices and workflows.

Documentation is often offered in a traditional written format, however we also have provide a web or intranet based documentation library. We can even replace or augment the documentation with videos.
